ABOUT CITY
Crkva svetog Prokopija is ‘The Church of St. Procopius’ is apparently the oldest preserved church in all of Serbia, and was founded in the year 1997 at the initiative of Lazar Barac architect. Since it’s been founded, the first choir conductor (Pavle – the professor of music culture), regularly participates at church services, as is the winner of plenty acknowledgements in this city. The church has three entrances, two facing north, as well as one facing east.
During the past entries, it has been renovated, expanded and altered. And to this day, the choir involves about 20 members, and has had some reconstruction.
About a year ago, I visited Prokuplje. It was the most beautiful place I have ever been to in my life. More beautiful than any tropical island any one has ever been to. I was there for about a month and a half, my wife and I always love to explore the world and know about history and culture. Nothing can compare to what we have seen and experienced in that city. I swear it was magical. Until something weird happened, it was kind of annoying.
It was a beautiful, sunny Sunday morning, just after eating lunch, we were walking down town Prokuplje. We came across a big gorgeous church that looked like it has recently been rebuilt. We decided to go inside, because well… it was Sunday and we thought it would be the most perfect day to join church. I could smell the fresh cream-colored paint on the newly-built wooden walls. We took our seats, beside an old couple, they were about 90 years old, you could obviously tell they are still in love.
Church as started, there were quite a few families actually. One group of children were busy coloring their little travel-sized coloring books and seemed really well-behaved, at first. I then look over, and one child is coloring all over the newly-painted walls with a black and a blue crayon. It looked like he tried to draw something evil, like a demon or something from a scary movie. It wasn’t nice. Oh boy…
He kept coloring and coloring, all over the walls, his parents would look at him but not say anything, like they were okay with it. Another little boy all of a sudden grabbed a red crayon out of the box and started coloring with that one. It looked like he was drawing a huge murder scene… I couldn’t believe my eyes. What’s wrong with these kids? He then turned back, and looked at me with a huge grin on his face like he was going to come after me.
EVIL.
After church, we couldn’t stop thinking about what we had saw. Our day eventually got better though. We found a bunch of fun stuff to do for the rest of the day to keep our minds off of it. To this day, my wife still has nightmares about it. And she refuses to ever have children.
