Šabac is one of the biggest cities located in west Serbia. It also has the best tourist attractions in Serbia as well. It is known for its fabulous luxurious hotel called ‘Hotel Sloboda’.
My great grandfather was once there many years ago, when he was a child, with his parents. He told me all about Hotel Sloboda and what he had experienced during his stay. Hotel Sloboda wasn’t always so ‘luxurious’.
Before the multi-billion dollar renovation, it was once a little 2 floor hotel, which only had about 16 rooms, the floors creaked, the carpets were a little bit torn and most rooms were even missing windows… It looked like it was falling apart.
Anyways, he, his brother, his mother and his father stayed there for a couple of months, waiting for their new house to be built north of the city. They didn’t have many choices at the time, it was during the summer and all of the nice hotels were booked up.
I’m going to cut the story short and just say that it was a very haunted place. Scary paranormal stuff would always happen at night like the sound of footprints, reflections in the TV or the mirrors, little whispers, his father’s car keys would always just ‘magically’ fall of the table… and so on.
The day after they left, they had heard on the radio that Hotel Sloboda had started on fire, with no explanations on why or how it happened. They were so lucky to have not been there at that exact moment…
Now the hotel has 90+ different sized rooms and suites. All of the rooms are equipped with gorgeous modern furniture, air conditioning, a minibar, a safe, free wireless internet, LCD TV and more. This beautiful 13-floor luxury hotel offers bed and breakfast, includes lobby bars, a spa, a wellness center, a jacuzzi in every room, a pool, a sauna, a fitness center, massage therapists that offer different types of massages, and more.
You know what’s missing, is some expert medical discussions about the kinds of clinical services and procedures that are available here. Tourism brings it’s share of health care needs. Medical tourism might even be happening to a significant extent.
